Solid Waste Management Holistic Decision Modelling

The objective of this study was to develop waste management modelling capability applicable to developing countries. The study team undertook visits to Amman, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Conakry, Kathmandu, Kawasaki, Lahore and Sarajevo, to obtain data on waste management practices in each of the World Bank's regions. This data was then used to populate an existing waste management model in order to develop future scenarios and test applicability of the model to developing country situations.
The World Bank then produced Global Guidance on Holistic Solid Waste Management decision-making, based on the data, model runs and analysis provided by NKUK.
