Alborz ILWM Project - Supervision and Quality Assurance Support Consultancy

This consultancy assisted the World Bank in providing quality assurance, guidance and supervision for the implementation of the Alborz Integrated Land and Water Management (ILWM) Project.
The project consisted of five components:
- Management of the upper watershed;
- Enhancement of irrigation water use efficiency and agriculture production;
- Adoption of integrated water resources management (IWRM);
- Implementing the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP);
- Project implementation support including monitoring and evaluation.
Support to the Bank's task team was provided in four key areas: technical and administrative; strategic options for development and sustainability; IWRM; and the provision of IWRM Workshops. The workshops focussed on the Basin Water Council, the Basin Water Fund, and the Water Users' Associations.
