The main EPC contract awarded to a Degremont/Marubeni JV includes the engineering, procurement, and construction of extensions to Doha West STW together with refurbishment of the existing works to enable it to provide a treatment capacity of 135,000m3/d. A 10-year operation and maintenance contract forms a separate component within the JV contract.
Nippon Koei is responsible for the overall project management on behalf of the Qatar Public Works Authority, review of the EPC Contractor's designs, and site supervision during construction and commissioning.
