Project on Water Pollution Control and Management of Water Quality in the Santa Lucia River Basin

The objective of the project is to assist the Ministry of Environment in the establishment of procedures for the monitoring of surface water quality in the Santa Lucia River Basin with a view to improving the management of point and non-point pollution sources.
Assistance included design and interpretation of monitoring programmes, data management and the audit of pollution sources.
Emphasis was placed on the involvement of the Municipalities in the implementation of the programmes.
