Sveneti to Rikoti Highway Regional Environmental Assessment

This study is being conducted as part of a project, funded by the World Bank, to upgrade a 64 km length of the East-West highway in Georgia between Sveneti and Rikoti. Upgrading will involve widening of the road from a 2-lane to a 4-lane highway and rehabilitation of a tunnel through the Rikoti mountain range.
The study is a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and will involve preparation of a Regional Environmental Assessment (REA) and Environmental Management Framework (EMF) for the upgrading works and ToR for EIA and EMP of individual projects to be conducted during detailed design. Documents should comply with Georgian legislation and World Bank policy and procedure.
