Hydropower Projects, North West Frontier Province

Client/Finance: Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) / KfW-funded

Appointed by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) of Pakistan to be the member of the Panel of Experts responsible for environmental and social issues in relation to the feasibility studies and development of two hydropower schemes in Indus Kohistan, North West Frontier Province (NWFP).  The schemes are the 130 MW Keyal Khwar and the 2,800 Chor Nala / Spat Gah projects, which are being financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW.

Review of all project documents and reports including Feasibility Study, EIA, EMP, RAP, Designs, etc. Periodic visits to project sites during feasibility and design studies.

Periodic visits for environmental and social monitoring during construction and commissioning.
