NKUK provided the Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist on a team conducting a Project Preparatory Technical Assistance (PPTA) for the Dhaka Water Supply Project in Bangladesh.
The aim of the environmental study was to assess the environmental impacts of the various elements of the project, devise measures to avoid or mitigate all negative impacts, and develop a Monitoring Plan to ensure that all measures are provided and function as intended. The aim of the resettlement study was to avoid where possible and compensate where necessary, resettlement impacts caused by the project, including relocation of people and households and loss of income or income-generating assets.
