Transportation
The transportation sector is undergoing rapid growth in all regions of the world. In the booming economies of Asia, new rail lines are being constructed, whilst road routes are being converted into motorways and ports are being expanded to cope with the expanding trade in manufactures.
In the old economies, transport infrastructure is being rehabilitated, whilst air and sea terminals are being constructed to meet the new demands of both leisure travel and international trade.
In addition, the oil and gas industry is increasing the demand for specialised transport in both producing and consuming countries.
The Transportation Division of NKUK is at the centre of these developments, offering international consulting services for road, rail, ports and airports, mainly focused on the needs of public and private sector clients in developing and emerging countries. Whilst our work is primarily in planning, engineering, and construction management, we also have strong institutional and economics capabilities.
Complementary services are also available from our Environment Division to provide the environmental and social impact assessments usually required for such projects. As part of the international Nippon Koei Group, the Division works closely with other divisions worldwide, and provides specialist services both to and on behalf of the NK Group.
The Division has the capability and experience of providing a range of services covering the full project cycle, from pre-investment planning, through project design and preparation, to project implementation. In recent times, our main sub-sectors have been:
- Urban Road Upgrades
- Highway Reconstruction
- Metropolitan and Regional Rail Construction
